When we integrate data, tools and interfaces to generate new scientific knowledge, we are working in a virtual research environment.
The virtual research environment allows data processing and display of results directly in the infrastructure, without forcing the user to install specialised software on the computer and load the accessed data.
Based on the needs and requirements of researchers, we ensure that the platform interacts with third-party applications so that researchers can use the computing power and tools to implement the required digital research methods, if needed. If we identify a need, but the researchers do not explicitly express it, we build the necessary functionality on top of the data to enable the need to be met. In this way, new functionality can be created over the data to improve the quality of the research.
